Separation Anxiety
Helping your dog feel safer when left alone, without rushing the process.
If your dog struggles to be left alone, everyday life can start to feel very restricted. You may find yourself planning everything around your dog, worrying about popping out, or feeling unsure whether you are helping or making things worse.
You are not on your own, and your dog is not being difficult.
Separation anxiety is distressing for dogs and stressful for the people who love them. This programme is designed to help you understand what your dog is finding difficult, start at the right level, and follow a gradual plan that supports your dog’s welfare.
This is not about letting your dog “cry it out”. It is about helping your dog build confidence at a pace they can cope with.
Is this programme right for your dog?
This programme may be suitable if your dog:
-
Becomes anxious, vocal, unsettled, or destructive when left alone.
-
Struggles to settle when you move out of the room.
-
Shows signs of worry when you pick up keys, put on shoes, or prepare to leave.
-
Paces, pants, drools, barks, howls, scratches, or appears panicked when alone.
-
Needs support with learning that short absences can feel safe.
What we will work on
-
During the programme, I will help you understand your dog’s current starting point and what they can manage right now.
-
You will learn how to work at your dog’s pace, rather than guessing or pushing too far too soon.
-
You will have a clear, tailored plan to follow between check-ins.
-
You will receive feedback on your training videos so we can adjust the plan based on what your dog is actually showing us.
-
The aim is to help you feel more confident, more informed, and clearer about the next steps for your dog.
How the programme works
-
A free 15 to 20 minute discovery call so we can talk through your dog’s needs and decide whether this is the right starting point.
-
A questionnaire to gather important background information.
-
An initial visit to look at your dog’s current situation and discuss what support is needed.
-
A written separation anxiety protocol tailored to your dog.
-
Weekly check-ins for 6 weeks to review progress and adjust the plan.
-
Feedback on your training so you know what to look for and when to make changes.
-
An in-person mid-programme review to assess how things are going.
-
A final review to look at progress and discuss your next steps.
-
A written summary at the end of the programme.
-
Support throughout the 6 weeks.
What to expect
-
Separation anxiety rehabilitation is a gradual process. Some dogs begin to make changes quite quickly, while others need longer-term support.
-
The focus during this programme is to help you understand your dog’s baseline, build a routine around careful training, and avoid pushing your dog into situations they are not ready for.
-
Progress is not always linear, and that is normal. The programme gives you structure, support, and a clearer way forward.

Programme Fee

A few important notes
This programme is for dogs who show distress when left alone and are generally healthy, with no known medical issues contributing to the behaviour.
In some cases, medical factors, pain, medication needs, or more complex behaviour may need to be considered before or alongside training. If I feel your dog would benefit from a different starting point, I will explain this honestly and talk you through the most appropriate next step.
This programme does not offer quick fixes or guaranteed timelines. It offers thoughtful, structured support that puts your dog’s emotional wellbeing first.
